“Is it going around, or is it just us?” GermGauge is building a local snapshot of what may be circulating, with simple illness levels, changing trends and honest context about the data.
Select an illness, compare a rising week with a quieter one, then see what happens when there isn’t enough data. This is a hands-on preview of the planned app, not the paid brief itself.
01
Read the level
Low, Medium or High describes sample activity, not the risk to an individual child.
02
Watch the direction
Rising, steady or falling gives context beyond a single reading.
03
Check the evidence
Source coverage and confidence matter. A gap should be visible, never dressed up as certainty.
Built for parents of kids aged 0–6 in daycare, preschool and playgroups. No live surveillance integrations or parent-report density are represented in this demo.

This example shows activity moving up across recent weeks. A level describes activity in the example, not a child’s chance of getting sick.
Data coverage
Example: public signals + community reports
Confidence
Not assessed — illustrative data only.
Imagine recent community reports and broader surveillance pointing in the same direction. In a real outlook, source dates, location and report volume would affect confidence. No surveillance feed or parent reports power this demo.
Informational only. GermGauge does not diagnose illness or provide medical advice.
Give directors and school teams a clearer view of reported illnesses and sick absences. The planned center dashboard would keep those signals separate, add local public-health context and help teams prepare parent communication.
For directors, admins and authorized staff
A director or administrator would manage the center’s view. Authorized classroom staff would contribute aggregate reports for their assigned rooms; parents would use a separate local-awareness experience. Center permissions are planned, not working accounts in this demo.
Report counts, not children
The proposed reporting inputs are a date, classroom or age band, reported illness category and aggregate count, plus a separate sick-absence count. No child names, exact addresses or individual health histories. A sick absence can have no known illness; reported categories are not confirmed diagnoses.
Compare rooms and reporting coverage
Directors would see time trends, classroom and age-band summaries, and which rooms have submitted reports. Mixed-age Montessori rooms fit alongside daycare age bands. Missing reports would be marked as missing, never counted as zero illness.
Plan the school day
Use changes to prepare backup staffing, review routine cleaning schedules and draft an aggregate family update for staff review. These are operational planning cues, not instructions about treatment, exclusion, or whether a child should attend.
Keep small groups private
Sparse classroom, age-band or illness-category counts would be suppressed. The demo illustrates a five-report minimum per displayed count; hidden counts are not revealed through totals. A real service would also need group-size, access and re-identification safeguards. Final thresholds are not yet set.
This dashboard is a product preview, not an available paid feature. Center accounts, real reporting, private feeds and parent notices are still planned. The current Local Brief offer below does not include dashboard access.

Demo · Fictional sample only
Explore an invented center’s aggregate reports. Switch weeks and rooms, then try missing reports. No real school or child information is requested, submitted or saved. Selections clear on reload.
Reporting completeness: 3 of 3 rooms submitted a sample weekly report. Complete reporting does not confirm that all illness was captured.

Counts represent sick-absence days, not unique children. A child absent on two days contributes two absence days. Absences do not identify an illness.

Illustrative privacy rule: each count below five is hidden, including zero. Missing reports are labeled separately. No category or center totals reveal hidden values. This demonstrates suppression on fictional data only; five is not a finalized privacy policy or a guarantee of anonymity.
Operational planning cue · Illustration
Sample sick absences increased. A director could review backup staffing coverage and prepare an aggregate family update for staff review.
Informational and operational only, not a diagnosis or medical advice. Real reporting, secure center accounts, storage, alerts and parent notices are planned. None are connected to this preview or included in the current Local Brief purchase.
From “what’s going around?” to useful perspective.
Germ Weather Local Brief is the current way to get GermGauge’s local illness-trend research in plain English. It brings together what public sources report and where the picture is incomplete.
What the current offer includes
A shareable local illness brief
Dated public sources and reporting gaps
A 20-minute walkthrough
A one-time purchase, separate from the planned app. It does not include a live ZIP forecast, anonymous reporting, daycare feeds or future subscription features.

Local signals. Thoughtful boundaries.
The planned app would combine public surveillance and anonymous community reports as available. Alerts, shareable outlooks and daycare feeds would help families notice changes. Availability, coverage and subscription pricing are not confirmed.
Our intended privacy approach excludes names and exact addresses. Daycare-level trends would require a minimum report count before display. Reporting, threshold enforcement and those privacy safeguards are not implemented in this demo.
